DESCRIPTION

We have an opening for a Compliance Coordinator at our Dallas, GA facility. In this role, you will proactively implement, maintain, and enhance our Food Safety Management System, Quality Management System, and Environmental Health and Safety Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

Lead Manufacturing Facility Compliance function:

  • Implement, maintain, and improve Corporate and site-level processes, procedures, and work instructions effectively
  • Serve as the Food Safety Team Leader, providing leadership, direction, and support to all personnel
  • Report on internal and external audits and inspections
  • Complete customer questionnaires and surveys efficiently
  • Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness
  • Maintain documentation related to compliance activities
  • Identify compliance issues requiring follow-up and investigation
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure adherence to compliance procedures
  • Assess process compliance and collaborate with Plant Management to develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Prepare management reports detailing compliance
  • Assist the Document Control Coordinator with scanning and managing documents
      1. Act as a liaison for document control activities on-site, ensuring standardization across the organization
      2. Work with site personnel to review proposed changes and submit them to the Document Control Coordinator
      3. Review changes with site personnel for accuracy and compliance prior to implementation
      4. Ensure training is performed and documented

Manufacturing Facility Food Defense:

  • Provide leadership in plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and PRPs, ensuring compliance with standards
  • Offer leadership and support for risk assessments, HACCP, VACCP, and TACCP
  • Assist the Plant Quality Manager with product and mock recalls
  • Ensure completion and proper documentation of Master Cleaning Lists
  • Maintain the approved chemical list database
  • Assist in preparing for food safety and compliance audits
  • Communicate adherence to GMP/PRPs and food safety compliance
  • Provide input and feedback during management reviews regarding the health and status of the FSMS and QMS

Plant Safety Coordinator:

  • Determine safety needs by conducting internal safety audits, reviewing accident and incident reports, and gathering feedback from plant leadership
  • Document safety requirements and develop necessary procedures
  • Stay current on state and federal health and safety regulations
  • Schedule evacuation and emergency drills, evaluating plant performance
  • Train employees on Corporate and site safety procedures
  • Lead the plant safety team, conduct safety meetings, and document minutes and action items
  • Manage the near-miss initiative, focusing on leading indicators to drive continual improvement

Site Training Facilitator for Compliance and Safety Initiatives:

  • Develop strategies to assess training needs for all personnel and document requirements
  • Schedule required training sessions
  • Conduct and arrange ongoing compliance training for all staff members

Legally Compliant and Food-Safe Materials:

  • Ensure clear communication and understanding of product safety and quality objectives across the site
  • Provide support for the Risk Management Team
  • Document and verify the effectiveness of the site’s product safety and quality system

Additional Tasks:

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Quality Systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in QMS, FSMS, and EHS within a manufacturing environment
  • A working knowledge of statistical quality control and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Training and experience in problem-solving methods such as Kepner-Tregoe, DOE, and Crosby
  • Experience conducting HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP Risk Assessments
  • The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all personnel
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Strong and effective organizational skills
  • Exposure to OSHA standards

HUMAN RELATIONS:

As the Compliance Coordinator, you will play a leadership role in quality, food safety, and safety within the plant. You will need to foster a cooperative relationship with all personnel.

TYPICAL SCHEDULE:

  • Monday through Friday operation
  • Overtime and weekends may be required to meet customer demands
  • Standard shifts: Day shift 7 am to 3 pm, Afternoon shift 3 pm to 11 pm, and Night shift 11 pm to 7 am
